konrad + TINK
From August onwards, TINK, with 26 transport bikes, will be part of the rental bicycle system konrad (= Konstanz + Rad; Constance + bicycle) of Stadtwerke Konstanz as well. This way, you can easily borrow a bicycle from one of the 15 konrad rental stations or a transport bike at the additional 13 TINK stations.

Rental stations in Constance

The bikes can be found in the following locations: Constance train station, Döbeleplatz, Laube, HTWG, Mobilpunkt Seerhein (P+R-Parkplatz Schänzlebrücke), Zähringerplatz, Petershausen train station, Fürstenberg train station, Wollmatingen train station, Fürstenberg (at the Herosestraße bus stop), University Allmannsdorf (bus stop Mainaustraße at the "Penny" market) and ferry harbour Staad.
TINK
The transport bikes can be found in the following locations: Constance train station, Döbeleplatz, Laube, St.-Stephans-Platz, Europahaus (SEEZEIT), FRISTO Getränkemarkt, across from Fahrradspezialitaeten (store), Ellenrieder Gymnasium, Treffpunkt Petershausen, crossing Markgrafenstr./Alemannenstr., crossing Von Emmich Str./ St. Gebhard Str., Bahnhof Petershausen, LAGO Shopping-Center.
How does it work?
1. One-time registration
Before first renting a rental bike, you need to sign up as a user, free of charge. This takes only a few minutes and is easiest done with the tab "Rent konrad/TINK" above (menu: Sign up) and using our "Mein Konstanz" app. Once the account is set up, you're ready to go.
2. Rent a bike
Simply go to your closest konrad or TINK station (for free bikes, see the map) and request the code for the on-board computer by text message or App. The RFID chips are available for a deposit of 5 Euro from fahrradspezialitaeten-Konstanz in Schulthaißstraße 1a, at the energy cube of the Stadtwerke Konstanz or can be mailed to you on request.
Important: After using the bike, return it to a konrad or TINK station, lock it to the station and end the ride with the on-board computer.

• Send a text message with the bicycle number (at the frame below the saddle) to 0176 43852920
• Wait for the response text message with a four-digit code
• Select the option "Code" in the on-board computer and enter the number code. The lock will open automatically. The rent time will only commence when you have entered the number code. If you do not do so, the code will expire after 15 minutes.
by App Install the MeinKonstanz-APP of the Stadtwerke Konstanz using GooglePlay or iTunes
• Select the bike that you want to rent on the map
• Select the option "Code" in the on-board computer and enter the number code. The lock will open automatically. The rent time will only commence when you have entered the number code. If you do not do so, the code will expire after 15 minutes.
by chip
• Select the option "Chip" on the on-board computer
• Hold the RFID chip to the market point (to the right of the keyboard)
• Once the RFID chip has been recognised, the lock will open automatically.
3. Ride the bike
During the rental period, you can lock the bike without logging out, e.g. while you are shopping. You can open it again with your existing code.
4. Return
a) By on-board computer (konrad and TINK):
• Return the bike to any konrad or TINK station
• Select the function return by pushing button 2
• Answer question about damage to the bike. If you notice any damage, please describe it in more detail by mail afterwards.

• Insert safety rope and latch the lock manually
• The rental process is now complete.
b) By number lock (TINK):
• Return the bike to any TINK station
• Lock with number lock and anchor rope
• Read the station number at the top of the TINK sign
• Send a text message to 0176 43852920 with the following content: Lock code, station number
• Wait for the return confirmation
• The bike will be available for the next user

Our goals
"Networking with the Roter Arnold is a central item," says Dr. Norbert Reuter, the managing director of the Stadtwerke. The bicycles-for-rent system will be an ideal supplement for the city bus lines in future, making a contribution to relieving traffic in Constance.
Supplementation of public near-distance traffic is very important to the Stadtwerke. The city bus, konrad and TINK are closely linked. The 150 konrad bikes in a total of 15 stations and the 26 TINK bikes at 13 stations offer a comprehensive range. Norbert Reuter: "Such a dense network makes the offer highly attractive to the user".

The rental system for transport bikes (TMS) "TINK" was established two years ago and has become part of the bicycle rental system konrad of the Stadtwerke Konstanz. TINK has become established: The transport bike initiative of sustainable municipalities (Transportrad Initiative Nachhaltiger Kommunen, in short: TINK) was a project of the cities of Constance and Norderstedt (Schleswig-Holstein), in the scope of which the two cities designed and set up a public transport bike rental system. The transport bike rental system was opened in Constance at the end of July 2016 and promoted until July 2018 by the Federal Ministry for Traffic and Digital Infrastructure (Bundesministerium für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur; BMVI) in the scope of the national bicycle traffic plan 2020 (NRVP).
